AAVF (An Authentic Village Farm) is a working model of sustainable livelihood and its economics is based on Cow. We try to showcase here how a Cow can bring considerable changes and prosperity in one’s life. If all agriculture land holders follow the practice of keeping desi cow, how the health, wealth and environment improves significantly. We feel this change in our lives and hence propagate this message.
At AAV we not only use cow and cow urine for producing organic manures and pesticides but also use it to produce fossil free bio gas and hence contribute in CO2 control. Cows are very social and don’t like to be alone. When cows digest food, fermentation results in a large amount of methane; cattle produce 250 to 500 liters of the gas per day, and it's a more potent greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide. Livestock is responsible for 14.5 percent of all emissions, and beef and dairy cattle outpace all other livestock as methane emitters.
We have grown around 55 varieties of fruit bearing, ornamental, ayurvedic plants and shrubs and have 900 such trees in our premises. We are also conserving Buchanania lanzan (Chiraunji) which in on the verge of extintion.
Hinduism and spritualism are inseperable and trees and plants are very sacred to us, hence we have grown Navgrah Vatika (Nine planets garden) and 27 Nakshatra Vatika (27 Celestial Garden) which are mainly all medicinal plants and trees.
In Hindu mythology, all the God and Goddesses are associated with some trees, shrubs and creepers. Similarly, all nine planets are believed to control the destiny of a person are associated with trees, bushes and grass. Navgrah Vatika is a garden of nine trees, bushes and grasses which represents planets. These trees are planted in a particular direction to get the benefits of nine planets or grahs hence it is called Navgrah Vatika
According to International Journal of Ayurveda and Pharma Research (IJAPR) Navgraha plants have a great role in management of non-communicable diseases.
Like Navgrah, Nakshatra trees are also medicinal trees and have great healing and rejuvenating properties. They also create a great positive aura around them. Trees give energy to human beings and it is believed that the presence of trees creates a healthy mental, physiological and spiritual effect on people meditating near these trees. These trees are of high medicinal, social, aesthetic, and economic value.
Following Trees are planted in the Nakshatra Vatika – Kuchila, Anwla, Goolar, Jamuna, Khair, Sheesham, Bamboo, Peepal, Nangkaisar, Banyan, Palash, Pakad, Ritha, Bail, Arjun, Vikankat, MaulShree, Cheedh Saal, Jalwetas, Kathal, Madar, Shami, Kadamb, Mango, Neem, Mahua.
When we purchased this land we had no idea about its ground water table, this came to our notice when we checked water for a borewell, we has very little water not even su?cent to cater to our cattles needs forget about the plants, trees and agricultute. We than adopted water harvesting technique, and today we have enough water. We recently built a water reservoir which we also use as a splash pool. This pool is connected with pipes all around the farm to meet our agricultural water demands. Water Harvesting Pond Splash Pool
Our Splash Pool is a center of attraction for our guests, the water stored in the raised pool continuously keeps changing as it is used for irrigation, hence no wastage of water takes place. The size of this pool is 18'x16' and is 4.5 Mts deep. It has metal stairs to get in and out of the water
We host nature loving people and have a old British style cottage equipped with basic facilities. This room can accommodate up to four people. Here we provide washed hygienic linens and ensure absolute cleanliness for your guests. This structure is built on a rat trap bond technique which enables automatic temerature regulation inside the room. The roofs are made of 200 years old earthern tiles which also helps in temerature regulation througout the year.
Fresh cooked food and Chulha roti is our specialty. we serve desi food on earthernwares and recycleble leaves plates (pattal) to encourage water conservation and leaf moulds.
The farm fresh fruits, veggies, flowers, grains, pulses grown here are hand processed by the local tribal and other underprivileged women under strict hygienic conditions to products like, pickles, murabba, candies, bari, rose water, gulkhand etc.

The owner of Authentic Village Farm ,Mr Sanjay Pachori is a great host and a fantastic human. His passion about organic farming, water harvesting, medicinal plants and Nakshatra Vatka is a rare treat for nature lovers.Apart from the nature and healthy environment, delicious food is like icing on the cake. He took great care in organizing a reunion party with my friends with an eye on every minute details right from the snacks to the full fledged North Indian food. Initially we had planned a short stay at the farm house but the mesmerizing natural surroundings made us extend our stay to three nights. It was a great invigorating experience. We learnt about the magical medicinal value of the rare herbs available in the farm.We also took samples of some of these herbs and found them very useful for treating specific ailments. Highly recommended for nature lovers.
It was truly an authentic village experience. Set in the middle of a small village, very clean and yet a rustic place. We stopped over for the night during onward journey to Maharashtra. Mr. Pachori is a true gentleman and has a gracious and kind demeanour. We loved staying the night at such a nice little jewel in Jhansi. A must visit if you happen to be a nature lover and are in the vicinity. Thank you Sanjay ji for all the support.
